DC07 – DATA4

This project allowed me to develop technical, organizational, and managerial skills in a high-stakes environment, with certain information anonymized to ensure confidentiality.

DATA4, a leading European player in the design and operation of secure data centers, entrusts its projects to contractors such as IMOGIS.

I served as Electrical Construction Manager for the build of Data Center No. 7, a €34 million project, of which €5-6 million was allocated to the low-voltage package, carried out by ENGIE Ineo. This Tier III+ data center required high availability, redundancy, energy efficiency, and resilience. The complexity notably stemmed from the on-site assembly of prefabricated concrete elements manufactured in Italy, demanding rigorous coordination and strict adherence to deadlines.

Key responsibilities :

  • Preparation and anticipation : implemented grounding during excavation phases; managed stock and materials required for aluminothermic welding.
  • Cross-disciplinary coordination : monitored concrete pouring and assembly schedules to plan electrical team interventions; pre-fabricated cable tray supports in advance.
  • Execution control : verified installations, supervised support and cable tray mounting, and oversaw cable routing in compliance with plans.
  • Key equipment installation : monitored preparation of technical rooms prior to handover and installation of main switchboards and distribution panels.
  • Site logistics : managed deliveries and space availability to prevent work interruptions.
  • Testing phase (commissioning) : supervised load tests, coordinated inspections, managed self-inspection reports and compliance certificates to be included in the As-Built Documentation (DOE).

Core skills involved :

  • Safety : enforcement and reminders of safety instructions, incident tracking, and continuous improvement of on-site practices.
  • Project Management : planning, anticipating critical milestones, meeting deadlines, and budget monitoring.
  • Operational Management : supervising subcontractors, leading site meetings, and managing unforeseen issues.
  • Communication and Coordination : ongoing communication with the project management team, suppliers, and other trades.
  • Quality Control : verifying technical compliance, reporting deviations, and maintaining rigorous documentation management.
